ESX UCS Cluster Rolling Reboot

Tuesday 26th March 2019 09:30 AM

Purpose: Dell Copilot has identified an issue with ESXi 6.7 U1 and the Compellent. The issue is that during a controller failover on the Compellent, VMWare may encounter an APD (all paths down) scenario with virtual machines that have raw device mappings (RDM). As we have several VMs with RDMs, it is strongly advised that we implement the fix described here: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67006

This change will take effect upon reboot of the ESX host. Due to the redundant nature of the vSphere environment, no services should be impacted as each ESX host will be rebooted one at a time.

Impact: LOW

Affected: vSphere
